"Wassaw" gen II prototype finished!
« on: August 20, 2010, 08:00:00 AM »
Here is the second generation "Wassaw"  I'm getting close to having this new model tweaked like I want it.  I think this one is much improved over the first.

She is 61" nock-nock, and draws 52@28.  Grey action wood riser and limb cores.  She has black glass and yellow heart accents, which should retain the yellow color.  I'm gonna shoot this one a while!

Opinions wecome!  I know this style bow doesn't appeal to everyone, but she sure is a good shooter!

That is sweet looking.. I like the handle and the color. Is there a way I could try it?

Looks nice.. and if it a good shooter then it worked !

Wondering out loud.  With that style handle, it leaves a great big brace height. At least judging by pix. That cuts down on your power stroke.

Have you tried lengthening the string by maybe an inch to allow the limbs to be a bit less loaded or even better, adjusting the limb attachment angles out a bit to keep that string closer to the limbs ?  I wonder if that might give you even a bit more push than you are getting now ?

Anyway. .  good job !

I haven't shot it much yet, but it seems to like an 8.5" brace height.  I haven't even twisted up a proper string for her yet.  This one is too short and braces her at 9".  I'll share in my performance testing with you guys.  I'm expecting low 180s at 10 gpp and drawing to 28", even with the higher brace.  That's going by the 182 I was getting with the Gen I.  That's pretty fast with fingers!

The profile looks like the limbs from the old Bears, kinda semi recurve. I like the bow, would love to shoot it. Let us know how she perfoms. Are you going to make it part of your line up???

Looking great Apex!  I think the limb profile is coming together.  The yellow accents really touch it off!

Like I said before, thru the years, I have seen some things that didn't appeal to everyone, but performed well in all positions.

Looks pretty "innovative" there, Marty!

I don't know, though... doesn't look enough like a selfbow for me (but I've got real old-fashioned taste)!     ;)      :D

Marty, I like that one much better and think you are on to a great bow there! Once you get her perfected, we might be doing some talking.   :D
