The older I get, the more appealing the ground becomes! I will be there a lot more---not ready to quit climbing trees totally, but getting there for sure!!

I'm actually moving the other way this year, trying out the trees for a change of pace.  Probably will be about 50/50 ground/trees.

I plan on doing more ground hunting this year than in the past. One of the main reasons is the hip replacement I had in April.

I bought a Rancho Safari longcoat and hope to give it a lot of use this fall.

I'll be on the ground SOME. No Ghillie, yet, but eyeing them up. They look deadly and most everyone here speaks highly of them. Will start out tho' with just muted plaids and as Mudd said, wind in the face. "Wind in the face".. until it swings around onto my neck with the closely followed crashing away up ahead....

I've spent the last couple years soly on the ground, and the vast majority of my time before that in treestands.  This year I'm gonna mix it up and let the terrain and local conditions dictate where and how I setup. That said, I'd bet I spend more time on the ground, probably somewhere around 60-40.

I plan on hunting from the ground most of the time this year. In March saw a thread on here about ghost blinds I investigated them finally got a dealer within driving distance.Looked at one hands and got one. Should be interesting to see how well it works.

Dean I just went to the ghost blind site.

That looks great, I think you will have good success with that.

I only hunt the ground and I sure hope I will continue to be successful.

Never been in a bird house. Almond trees and peaches would only get you  four feet up any way.And scrub oak are not much taller. You miss too much stuff sitting in one spot.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

What ever I have to do to get an arrow in the air.
My season is within 10 days; the bucks and bulls still have velvet; still sticking to a pattern.
But any day that can change- and so might my plans.

I hunted in tree stands last year, the first time in years, until they were vandalized and/or stolen. I will be back on the ground.

I will be on the ground in my shaggy coat 90% of the time.   I have a couple ladder stands up, but won't use them much.

Ghillie suits? We don't need no ghillie suits!

On the ground as usual. Never hunted any other way. But thats not to say I can't see the benefits of  another way. Its just not for me thats all.

I really enjoy being on the ground, working through the timber or watching a funnel.
