Man without a bow.
« on: August 22, 2010, 12:02:00 AM »
  My nephew just moved to New Zealand .I want to send him his bow and some arrows from Oregon. Is it possible and affordable to send a 60" one piece bow in box and arrow tube without it costing more than the contents?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you

He has found a good church and has been invited to hunt deer in September.

Sent you a PM.

That might be tough, the USPS has a max length of 60" for International shipping. You say it is a 60" bow,if it is a recurve unstrung it may not be 60" long.See if you can package it and how long is it after that.Longer packages can get expensive.FedX and UPS will ship longer packages but will cost more.I just pack up what I want to ship and take it to UPS and get an actual estimate.

In the last year I have shipped bows 58" and under to New Zealand without any problem. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be.

I also shipped one to Australia that was 72" and it wasn't cost prohibitive.(under $60 by my memory)

God bless,Mudd

Thank you guys. I was a little intimidated by this venture but you all have given me confidence it is doable and affordable.
I really am blessed that i am in the company of so many like minded spirits who have such a willingness to help.
