Vote for LB or Recurve

I'm curious what the ratio of Longbow shooter to Recurve shooter is. You may own both, but which one do you shoot the most? How long have you owned them?

I have both and I shoot them in spurts. I'll shoot my RER Vortex for awhile then I'll shoot My RER t/d or my RER Arroyo, then back to the Vortex and so on. This week it's the Vortex.

Gee, was a recurve, then a longbow, then a number of selfbows, now it's a recurve with a few shots from my selfbows thrown in every now and then....clear as mud ain't it?

Own both.  I have had my recurve for years, but never shot it because I didn't see the alure.  I was a wheelie man.  I recently switched to a longbow after I made it myself.  Now I prefer the longbow, then the recurve, then the compound.  Lets just say I have been bitten by the Trad Bug.

Started with a longbow 37 years ago. Like shooting recurves but longbows are my true passion.

RECURVE!!! Had a longbow but had too much hand shock and got rid of it.  I'll just stick with a recurve.

Recurve only. I've never even shot a long bow. Haven't had any desire to.

Shoot longbows almost exclusively, and have for a long time, but I always keep a recurve or two in the stable.

One stick one string shape/design unimportant.Mostly longbow, recurve has better "feel" to bow hand but seem to be more accurate with longbow.

I started with recurves, went to longbows only, and just bought a recurve the weekend. Here's my plan. From the end of hunting season through about June, I'm going to shoot longbows only. From July through hunting season I'll use the recurve. I better get another for backup.

Good plan Carl! I have the same sort of plan for  my two BW recurves. The PMAII for 3D (Jan - Aug) and the MAIII 1 Piece for hunting (Sep - Jan). Maybe I should buy a back up too...    ;)

Oh,  sorry!   Recurves for me.    :p

Been shooting recurves since I was 11 in 1975. I've owned and shot a few longbows over the years but my passion has always been the glass laminated recurve. Probably cause that is what Fred Bear liked and that was what my first "REAL" bow was - a 1975 Bear Black Bear -  60" AMO, 48#@28",  all rock maple with black glass.  Still hunt with it from time to time too.  It currently sports a Real Tree Advantage Dura Coat. Still shoots like a dream even though it has dropped @ 6# of draw weight over the years.   :archer:
The toughest thing I've found about deer hunting is getting them to hold still long enough for me to stick an orange spot on them and then step off the yardage...
