Man o man. I wish I had the choice to shoot a longbow or recurve any day. I have two recurves. I was bitten by the bug last November and got a recurve, then my fiance's grandfather's Bear glass limb recurve. I shot a longbow at Bass pro, a guy who worked there happened to be shooting and let me shoot his. NICE. I want a longbow now. Smooth. I really want one. I want to get a pure longbow and a reflex/deflex one, kinda get the best of both worlds.

Been shootin curves, longbows and hybrids about the same amount the last few years.I like em all.If had to shoot just 1 though it would be a classic D shaped longbow, narrow limbed, deep core in a 1 piece about 66 to 68 inches long.Thats always been the style  bow my hearts drawn to.Its all good though!

Exclusively longbows for quite some time now, but some of these are hybrids.

Have owned recurves in the past, just prefer a longbow.  Been shooting longbows now for eight years.

Been shooting a recurve exclusively for the past seven years or so even though I shot a longbow better when I started. I just liked the looks, the feel and the genius of a longbow bowyer designing a recurve all those years ago. Now, I have just ordered a 64", 61# Border Griffin GL! I suspect I will shoot and like them both in equal measure-why choose?  :)

“instinctive archery” is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

started with longbow and killed with longbow but just found out that I shoot ALOT better and more consistent with a Bob Lee recurve so that's what I'm sticking with.

Started with a longbow for about 6 months, and was very frustrated. Switched to a recurve and I have been shooting it for 2 years. My shooting has greatly improved. I just bought a new longbow to give I try. I figure I might do alot better since I have about 2 1/2 years experence shooting traditional bows now.

2 longbows, hers and mine. Have a recurve, but shoot LB 95% of the time

Selfbow and since a couple of weeks longbow.

Longbow.  I just prefer a simpler, lighter bow.
