Take-down bow case!
« on: August 25, 2010, 06:57:00 AM »
I bought an MTM arrow plus case from Kustom King and outfitted it to hold my take-down bow, quiver, a doz arrows, broadheads, and misc accessories.  Pretty cool I thought.  The foam is the dense innerlocking matts they sell at Lowes.  It is textured on one side which made gluing the three layers together troublesome, hence the drywall screws!  Some better foam would make it better, but this one is staying as is, since I have better things to do with my time.

Very nice!  Wish I would have seen this before I bought a case for just arrows.

Very nicely done.  I made two using Plano Field Locker Arrow Cases.  Finding the foam can be tricky.  When I made mine, thick foam was a common packing material.  Google "upholstery foam" may help.

first I gotta say it looks great, then I will say why I laughed my butt off when I read the post. . .

after you explained why you used the drywall screws the emotocon isn't working so it just said huh which instantly made me picture it being said in a Tim Allen voice from Home Improvement, lol.

But really it looks great, how much was the total investment . . . if you don't mind me asking?

The case was $28.  I'm embarrassed to say what I paid for this crappy foam.  I'm gonna look around for a more appropriate piece.  Prolly find the perfect piece in a dumpster some where.  :)

Nice! I soooooooo wish I would have seen this last year before I bought this fancy SKB case that holds 2 bows and arrows & all the goodies. I paid about $180 bucks for that darn thing. Two of your homemade cases would probably been a whole lot cheaper! Thanks for posting! I need to try making one.

Great job.

Hobby Lobby sells some foam that works quite well. I use a takedown double barrel shotgun case. I have custom cut different foam inserts (interchangeable with velcro) so that with the same case I can carry any two or three piece bow/quiver/arrows/accessories, my over-under shotgun, or my TC Encore.

I was just thinking about the same thing. I just ordered a 3 pc TD and was thinking about how to carry it with arrows on my motorcycle. I think you have given me a great idea!

Now I have to figure out how to take my game home on the back of my motorcycle!

Very Nice!

Very cool.
I put my 3pc takedown in a rifle case that I wasn't using anymore. Works great so far.
