Those are awesome pictures! You were blessed with a very nice Florida buck to take a picture of!

I hope the Gator hunt was as enjoyable as chasing pigs.

Joe,

You really DO have it made!  A few days with Marty to start off the fall has to be the best kickoff.  Looking forward to the rest of the stories.

Yeah, I know.  I am blessed and living the dream.  This trip was a heck of a start to what should be a very enjoyable fall.

It's strange, but as I get older I appreciate the details of a trip more than ever.  I have had my share of success, but trips like this one that end up being a bit more of a struggle can still end up being ranked right up near the top in the memory banks.

Not taking a hog on the night of the lightning turned out to be a blessing.  Back at camp later that night as we sat warm and dry inside the camp we watched outside at the skinning pole as two other lease members worked at skinning a hog in the pouring rain.  I was very satisfied with the fact that it wasn't me out there getting drenched!  ;)

Whip,
Been said before, but still as true as the day penned. "It's about the journey, not the destination". The great thing is you have realized that while you can still enjoy it... you are blessed. Good luck with the lizards on steroids !!      :archer2:

Not getting it done on a hog is one thing.  I can deal with that.  But a Vikings fan?  Now THAT would be low!

It seems that I left my hog jinx behind in Florida.  Tonight Marty sat one of the great looking stands that I had hunted and came up with just as many hogs as I did.  Nada.

Joe glad you and Matt kept the seats warm. I've been away and wont be back for another week.
I was at the camp alone when that fire was going on. I was filling feeders when I first smelled it.
Heading back to camp I saw the smoke was close to the camp and decided to investigate since the wind was blowing towards camp.  Coming around a corner I encountered this at about 200 yards coming at me.

Back at the camp I watched the smoke and was thinking of getting out.  Just as I was about to head to the main road the sky opened up.

Just another day in Paradise.
