Leave for Wyoming tomorrow
«
on:
August 27, 2010, 11:47:00 AM »
Leaving for Wyoming tomorrow with TradArchers World editor Tom Colstad. We hope to find a couple of deaf and dumb mule deer bucks in the high country. Of course any follow up stories will only relate to our extraordinary hunting prowess to bring these bucks to bag. Really enjoy the mountain camping as much as the mule deer hunting...well that was kind of a little white lie. It's hard to beat mule deer hunting in the mountains for sheer enjoyment. Hopefully will have some good stories and photos on our return. And...I'll try to keep the stories factual, for the most part.

Good luck to you both Dale! And don't forget to forward GPS coordinates of any big bulls you happen to find
I'll be following in your footsteps on the 10th and will be spending the rest of the month there if need be. But I'm looking for elk instead of the mule deer. We saw plenty of deer when I was out there last month - you should have a great trip!

I will be there in the Laramie Peaks area doing the same in Tminus 4 days. Please direct all optically and olfactory impaired mulies my way (if you get into a bunch)
Good luck to you guys. I am like a kid at Christmas myself right now and can barely work!

Good to hear from you Jimmy. Are you and your brother heading to Colorado for elk this year? I sure miss your camp cooking. Only hunt I ever gained weight on.
Whip, We'll be sure to let you know of any elk we run into. In the past I haven't seen very many elk where I've been hunting, but I plan on getting into a few new drainages this trip. If your'e leaving on the 10th I'll email you as soon as I get back. If you're leaving before the 10th email with your cell number and we'll give you a call on our way back. Dale

Kelly, I built up the rest height and lowered the brace height on the DAS and have it retuned and shooting laser beams again. However, I'll still be hunting with my Widow with the DAS designated to the bull pen for middle inning relief.

Mike, thats my country! I'll be in there too, likely the whole time you are. I've got an any elk and an extra cow tag there, as well as it being general for deer.
Where abouts will you be? I'd stop you and say if If I ran across you. Shoot me a PM if you'd like.
Both of you, welcome and good luck!

Dale, shouldn't you be working instead of playing on the computer? You don't leave until tomorrow, so keep that nose to the grindstone, will ya? Slacker! Good luck to both you and Tom, and we're all looking forward to the details about "Forky Friday". Is there still room on the tailgate for me? Talk to you later.

Knobby, You know it's impossible to work the day before a hunting trip. Besides a couple of years ago I tried putting my nose to the grind stone before a big hunt, all it did was give me a big scab and it hurt like hell for weeks. Yes, the tailgate is available. Hope to be cooling my heels in camp by the time "Forky Friday" arrives.

Elkbreath, Not sure where Laramie peak is. We'll be in the Bighorns above Sheridan.

No trips for me this year  Guess I'll just have to hunt around here
Good luck to anyone headed this way....
Whip, I'll PM my cell # in case I can be of help. We only get a month of bow season and I've got 2nd cutting coming up during so I may be hard to get ahold of.

Dale good luck. I'll be leaving the same day as Whip headed for unit 37 to hunt elk, and maybe deer too if I decide to spend the $$. Let me know what area you will be in.
