Introducing myself
« on: August 29, 2010, 07:30:00 PM »
Hey guys.  This is my first post on Tradgang and just wanted to say hey and wish everyone good luck this upcoming season.
This will be my second season using traditional equipment and I am loving every minute of it.  I have yet to connect with an animal using my longbow, but I know it's just a matter of time.  Besides, it's the journey not the destination, right?
I hunted for almost 20 years with a compound bow with pretty decent results.  I don't take anything away from anyone who wants to use one, it's just not for me any more.
I'm a member of the United Bowhunters of Missouri and they are a great bunch of guys.  Them and my two closest friends and hunt buddies helped make hunting enjoyable again.  Something I look forward to.
Well, I've rambled on long enough.  Good luck everyone.

Welcome and you're right about the journey. Kills will come when the time and shot is right. Enjoy the flight of the arrow.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Welcome to the    :campfire: . Archery with stick and string plus arrow is a fantastic ride. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
