Ghillie boots (I swear, my mission in life is to convert all American hunter to these things!) They're ultra, ultra lightweight, soft, flat soled & silent to stalk in. If you eiher don't mind wet feet when it rains, or have an alternative for wet weather, Ghillies are the perfect early season/stalking boot.

I've been a Muck boot fan for years now. When it gets too cold (my Mucks aren't the insulated or even camo variety - just the plain ol' green ones) I wear a pair of thinsulate boots (of any kind I have on hand).

Those Ghillies sure look and sound comfortable, Rob but I hate wet feet. I have a lot of trouble with me feet anyway.

It's hard to beat the grange boots from lacrosse, atleast in my neck of the woods....or swamp. Around here moving thru some water routine, hell short unexpected swims aren't all that uncommon. And they are snakeproof atleast to cottonmouths

Robtattoo those look excellent. I'm kind of a boot freak anyway. I really like Timberland Earthkeeper Originals, which look like a six inch leather field boot except the main uppers are instead heavy canvas trimmed in leather. Very light weight and comfortable. They normally sold for $130. but as usual they quit making them. I found two pairs for $38. this summer and got them both. Excellent warm weather boots but these Ghillies look like the ticket too. Thanks for the info. BW

I like the Broadhead from Rocky.  Lightweight, comfortable, and have scent eliminating lining.

I have some low cut Bogs. They are neoprene so they are hot but since they are low cut like a regular shoe they aren't to bad, and waterproof.
