Hello guys I know back in the old days there where a lot of B.H when I look in the old archery magazine I see a lot of old ads for all kinds.
I know Bear was a good one but what was one of the others.

i like the look of old deadheads, i forget where but somewhere i read that in a pinch you can use them to gut/skin a deer

Gottabow...I second that thought. I would love to try a Butterfield.  Something about the look of them makes me think they should be great heads.

I have one in my collection but probably won't shoot it.

Monkey...broadheads have been used more times than you might think to do a gutting job.  All you have to do is forget your knife at the wrong time.  Been there......

The Pearson Deadhead (a truly deadly broadhead)
The Butterfield Brute(which I know only by reputation,never seen one)
The Goshawk(I've only seen these on eBay and they get tremendous amounts of money for NIB ones)
Ace and Zwickeys were around back in the day.
The Case knife Company made a couple of models of broadheads in the 40s and 50s I seem to remember.

Not much experience with anything but Deadheads...but dang they were a good head. They came in both a large and x-large size, but very well built, superb steel, and if you got them on straight, flew better than a blade that size has a right to. Stockpiling them myself and have at least one in my quiver almost every hunt.

  Deadheads are the only B/Heads in my quiver for the past 2 seasons.  Like you said, if you get them on right, they fly true and man, do they cut a hole!

Love those Deadheads, JC...I think the large is is better looking than the Xl, though...I'm thinking about having one silver plated and used as a riser insert on a Sapphire 3 piece longbow I'm going to have built...much mojo in those heads...

I'd really like to see a pic of those Butterfield Brutes if anyone has one...I'm intrigued...

Best modern head in my book is that Muzzy Phantom...the 220 minus the bleeders for me...great tip...never curls...

i had those muzzy phantoms and hated them.. Mine made so much noise running through the air the blade was loose off the ferule.  I might give the larger ones a try sometime in the future but for now im sticking with my bear greenheads.  Those are the easiests heads ive found to sharpen.
