Cx Heritage and Stu arrow spine calculator
« on: August 31, 2010, 03:31:00 PM »
hello,

im perparing a new bunch of arrows, will choose Cx Heritage for their durability (and price ^^).

I will use it for 3d shooting so .. lightest as possible, no heavy inserts and point (10% FOC is ok).

So i started up Stu's awesome excel sheet and begun playing with it:

CE Heritage 075   : shaft model and spine
28,50 arrow lenght back of point
90 gr point weight
11 gr insert
No footing
Nock+wrap=16 gr
5" Feathers
Dynamic arrow spine= 65,9

bow data:
Performance Recurve / Horsebow : bow type
45,0 28,0 : 45@28
27,5 ; my draw lenght
1/ 8 past center
FastFlight 16 strand
Dynamic arrow spine=62.9.

Bow is a Border Black douglas with Hex5 limbs (take a moment to read PeteWard review about this bow, it's a nice piece of equipement).

Will gain the 3 units of spine using a better string (my FF16 is a piece of crap), no problem.

It's just that i dont feel comfortable using a CX 75 that's small ...

So do you have experience with Cx 75 and do you think i might do a wrong calculation ?

Looking forward reading your answer.

Could you re-post without the formatted info being skewed?

Do you have any strike plate material at the arrow pass that would change your actual -1/8" entry?

I came up with the same 65.9 and 62.9 values, if the CE 75 Heritage does have a static deflection of 0.608", seems like your choice should work. I bet that Borrder bow will really spit them out!

hello,

thanx for your time. My strike plate is very very thin (calf something, i dont remember the word in english.

By the way, Shawn at 3RA, confirmed that i need the 75 beacause the 90 are still .530 !

Will try to tune a doz up and tell you how they match the bow so others can benchmark.

That's calf skin off his chinny-chin-chin, quite thin indeed, hmmmmm. Good luck with your testing, it can be fun.

I got the same numbers as you. If you keep the same string you could go to an arrow length of 28.9" to get it spot on.
