Lower Weight And A Tall Tines
« on: September 05, 2010, 05:26:00 PM »
O.K., so recently I jacked my neck/shoulder up because for some reason I must love beating up my body.
I decided to back off before I seriously hurt something and can't shoot. So I sold the heavy weight Centaur I was already struggling with tuning arrows for and began searching for a lighter weight replacement. I was hoping to find an "in stock" bow so that I could hopefully still be ready for opening day. By luck I found one that wasn't quite finished and requested a few pics. Man those Tall Tines are some pretty bows. I'm not sure if I should post the unfinished pics or wait and show ya'll the finished product ? What do ya think ?      :D

Brian is a great guy who makes a beautiful product. He was kind enough to send me pics of an unfinished product even though he would rather have had them in a more professional setting. I've decided I should show him the same courtesy and wait to get some better pictures.
Sorry if I jumped the gun a bit, I will get some finished pics up though when I can....

Thanks Brian.
I'm real psyched to try this bow out. Charcoal Dymondwood riser with Walnut stripe and Curly Maple accent. Curly Maple limbs with charcoal tips. Pretty sure those were the woods. It is coming with antler bolts to dress it up a bit more.

I've read good things about them. I'm dropping weight from around 73# @ 29.5 to about 58# @ 29.5 with this bow. I've been exercising daily very intensely and work has really been busy so I need to back off on the non work exercise a bit. Body needs recovery time.
I'm also hoping the lower weight simplifies arrow tuning.

I've had mine for about a month and have been practicing with it out of my tree saddle on my 3d targets.  Very accurate bow, extremely smooth and it hits hard.  This guy has it figured out.

Okay, maybe a dumb question but do the cork pads or whatever they are stay on the limbs ? I know some of you have gotten your Tall Tines already so I figured you could enlighten me.
