Speed vs Kinetic Energy

I was thumbing through a few TBH magazines and I was looking at the bow reviews by Blackey. I noticed the new SKY Hawk at 45# and 58" and compared it to the Dryad Orion same length but it as 53.5#. The speeds were near equal but the kinetic energy on the SKY was less. Is this difference a function of draw weight or design or both? Just curious.

Blackey tests bows with arrow weights at 9 grains per pound of draw weight. The 45# bow was likely set up with a 405 gr. arrow vs. the 53.5# bow, likely being set up with a 481.5 gr. arrow. The heavier arrow will win out every time, when all else is equal, in the kinetic energy department.
