125 Grain Broadheads?

Just curious how many guys are shooting 125 grain broadheads.  What type and style head are you shooting?  I normally hunt with cedar arrows but this year I am shooting carbon.  All my carbons are set up to shoot 125 grain points but there are not many screw ins available in that weight that I have found.  So far I have a package of Woodsman Elites and some Muzzy Phantoms and both look good.  Just looking for other cut on contact alternatives.  Thanks in advance.

Both the Magnus Stinger and Steelforce Phathead in 125gr are super great heads. I'm partial to the Phathead.

Thanks!  I also forgot I have a pack of Snuffer SS heads as well.  Other than the Woodsmans I have not heard much about the Snuffer or Muzzys.  Does anybody have experience with either of these heads?

I have been a fan of the snuffer since the 80's. Still use the regular screw in at 125grs. I can honestly say the head has never failed me.

I shoot the 125 Muzzy Phantoms on my aluminaum arrow. They are high quality and pretty tough. I ordered two more packs the other day. I'd also like to add that we are bombarded with quality heads these days. From Abowyer to Zwickey I have never shot a solid cut on contact broadhead, regardless of blade count, that I did not like.

I use NAP Razorcaps a lot.  The replaceable center allows me to use the same blades from 125 to 200.  I can use the 125's on my 2018's and 150-200's on my carbons.  A little harder to sharpen than some others, but I've stuck with them for a few years now and have no complaints.  I just purchased a larger set of stones which should help the sharpening issue.

Been shooting the 125gr Phantoms for several years now and really like them, work well for me and shoot them as the 4bl head.

I like the Phantoms.  The only problem is they tear up my target due to stuff getting stuck in the blades from the inside of the target.  They fly very nice and you can shoot them as a two blade.  I just picked up a Muzzy sharpener to see how it works on them as well as the standard three blade Muzzy heads I use from time to time.

Sounds like you have some awesome heads and awesome recommendations as well.

Muzzys and Slick Tricks are good replacement blade haeds.  The Muzzy Phantom comes insanely sharp and are easy to resharpen with the truangle stuff.

I love my VPA Terminators, just got a new pack in the new green.

I got a pack of the VPA 175's on the way to try out.  If I like them as much as I think I will the 125 could replace my Phantoms.  I love a three blade.

I like the Raazorcaps for the reasons stated above. NAP  also makes the Hellrazor which I believe comes in a 125 grain size.

125 gr. glue-on Snuffers -- and -- 125 gr. glue-on Woodsman.

Both are pretty good.

Even with carbon arrows, you have the same options as with wood arrows. Kustom King sells what's called a glue-in/glue-on adapter. It takes the place of your regular adapters, weighs the same, and accepts glue-on broadheads. I've been using them for 10 years, and they have performed flawlessly.

If you want to use screw-in broadheads, that's great. But there's no reason you have to.

I've been using the 125 gr. Eclipse. Flies really well and constructed like a tank.

The 125 grain "standard" Ace broadhead flies BEAUTIFULLY and is abeautiful broadhead. It's the broadhead I'm using this year. For the money they are hard to beat!!

Bear Greenies for me. My brother-in-law had a large untouched batch w/ bleeders given to him, so he gave them to me! Woo-hoo! I have some early season turkey hunting coming up, curious to see how they do with feathers.

When I'm stuck with a 125 grain screw-in head I turn to the Snuffer 125, also like the Razorcap 125, and the Snuffer SS.  I've used all with success.

If I were to use a 125 grain screw-in 2-blade I'd have to go with the Silver Flame XL, still 1 1/2" wide which is about as narrow as I usually go with my 2-blades...

I've seen the results of the 125 grain Stinger in both 2 and 4 blade configuration and they do a real number on a deer!  

I've got a bunch of Steelforce 2-blades that are 125 grains but haven't done more than shoot one into my target... 1 3/16" wide and 125 grains.  I'd bet they would do the trick as long as I'd do mine.

I'm using the glue-in/glue-on adapters Jason W. mentioned, they work nice and dont have to buy new heads. They weigh the same/replace the screw in insert. AND they come in brass 75/100/125g for carbons 5/16 & 9/32. The aluminum versions fit the Easton Legacy shaft sizes + carbons.
