Proper brace height

What is the proper brace height for a string on a recurve and a long bow.

It depends on the bow. My bear recurve is 6.5, my selfbow longbow is 7, my silvertip recurve is 7.5, my silvertip longbow is 7, my morrison longbow is 6.5.
