Newbie in Va
« on: September 11, 2010, 05:17:00 PM »
Marty from Apex just finished my bow and has it in the mail. I am not new to archery but this is my first Traditional. Marty is a good friend but living 400 miles to far, he has me hooked on this site for tons of great info. I was hoping to find someone in the Tidewater area that would be willing to help out a newbie to help keep me from picking up to many bad habits.

Thanks for your time, Erick

Welcome to the    :campfire:

I'm a ways away from the Tidewater, but give me a yell if you ever come over the Blue Ridge.

Kevin, I am from Clifton Forge, I make a few trip back that way a year so I hope to take you up on the offer. I do most of my hunting in Bath Co. Not sure I will be ready for early season but I am going to try to be ready for late season.

Welcome to Tradgang!

You are near some of my old stomping grounds.

So is Killdeer, I used to live in DC, Rockville and Silver Springs MD. I did a lot of traveling up and down the east coast.

Enjoy the journey with the rest of us.

God bless,Mudd

Erick, the September shoot is the last one of the year; we'll start back up in January.  There's quite a few folks that come from the Tidewater area, so there's gotta be somebody close to you.  I think Dave Bartholomew is down that way; maybe he'll see this thread.

Make sure to post pics of your bow when it arrives.

I know that there are some Gangers down in Chesapeake. Used to be my old stomping grounds. I am up near DC, so we might meet at ATAR or some such shoot.  The drive used to be three hours from here, but it may have gotten longer over the years.

Check out the Virginia section in the Trad Clubs forum here, see what shows up for you.

It's a pretty fair drive, but I'm up here in Middlesex County.  I think Vic Posey and Chad Tomlin are closer... in Suffolk.

Erick, we're right on your way home and hunt out of a camp over in Bath Co. Looks to be a good year this year, lots of sign in the usual areas.
