New Holm-Made Osprey Pics
« on: September 11, 2010, 07:36:00 PM »
I purchased this bow about 2 months ago. Just now getting around to posting some pictures. I read a lot of good things about this bow but had never shot one before ordering. All I can say is it exceeded my expectations. I am really glad I purchased this bow. I like it so much that I think my next bow purchase will be another, but in a 2 piece with the bow bolt take down system. This bow is really smooth, it has no hand shock, is quiet and like I had read very quick. I have a sure grip on the bow as I put one on all my bows that do not have a leather grip, so you may not be able to get a very good look at the grip. I ordered it with the thumb wrest and I am very glad I did as it puts my hand into the grip exactly the same position each shot. All I can say is this is one fantastic longbow. Shoot one if you get a chance, I think you will be very impressed.

Nice looking bow. I met Chad at Denton this year. He makes quite a bow. He seems to be a really great guy. Next time I get the itch to get another bow, I'm going to look seriously at one of his.

Great looking bow! That quiver seems to suit her just fine too. Congrats!   :archer2:

David, This is going to be the bow I hunt with this year. I really like this bow. Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well and you have a good season. I have tried over and over to edit the larger pic and save it as a smaller picture in photo bucket and it keeps coming out large. The others worked, don't know why this one won't. If anyone has a tip let me know.

My son shoots an Osprey and I shoot his recurve called the River Runner.  They are great shooting bows and Chad is a pleasure to deal with!!!

Austin,  The riser is zebra wood and bocote and the limb veneers are white ash.

Anyone know why it's named the "Osprey"?  Just curious....

Thanks for the nice words.  Kill something and send me a picture.  I like pictures very much.

Tom,  The Osprey is a large fish eating hawk.  I've seen them dive bomb a northern pike, completely submerging themselves under water and flying off with the 2-3 pound fish. I have always lived in the Lakes area and always within a short distance from the Mississippi River.  We have no shortage of Osprey around here.  In fact, there is a large nest within sight of my mail box.
Most of my favorite hunting memories come from hunting the river bottems, sharing them with this beautiful bird of prey.

I have two of chad's bows and they are quiet And quite fast I'm amazed at the speed that I have at the poundage that I shoot with ,I have shoulder troubles ,And Chad was very accommodating ,Matter of fact he's very fussy ,I could not convince him to give me the first one he was making for me ,He started all over fresh because It didn't come out to be the poundage I was requesting ,He's a very particular bow maker .And he granted a request that I had,On the one bow ,The face and body of a deer and on one side of the riser the butt of the deer with the flag on the other side of the riser ,Most definitely I will never sell that bow. There's two stories that go with that tail ,And two stories that go with the other part of the deer ,It'll be going to the woods this year for the first time .

I had the privilege of being able to go to his shop ,Each time he spent 2 or 3 hours with me to make sure things were checking out .Fantastic product ,From a fantastic person .
