Given the informal results,  The 56" shoots as good if not better the the 58" at 26" of draw.  The draw weight increase from 25" to 28"  are almost indentical with the two bows.

I would ask South what he recommends, but I would say that this bow would shoot fine up to 27" of draw.

So far, I got two other people that are sold on this bow.  One placed an order on Friday and the other is going to call tomorrow!

Another great day at the range!

Ryan, South sent me a 58" Stealth Model to shoot and I draw to a little over 29". All I can say is that if I can shoot that well with a shorter bow I am going to. For those with a little shorter draw length I can see where a 56" would be handy in a tree or ground blind. Here's a link of four good arrows out of the 58". NO stacking or pinch like some other bows that I have shot that were that length. Come on OCT!

Great looking rig Ryan. What is the total length of the riser? Did South make a shorter riser, limbs or both?

I will be as soon as I get limbs. I picked up a mini 13 riser and with medium limbs it is going to come in at 56".

Great looking bow...have not had a chance to shoot one but for me the 56" recurves are the best all around bows.

Think having a 56" bow available would be a wish choice.

Thanks for the info Mike.  Great shooting!  When we meet up, I'm going to need some lessons!

Tom
It's the same length riser as the 58".  It's the first one so he did have to modify it a touch.  He got the shorter length by cutting down on the fade out section, so the working portion of the 58" and 56" limbs are almost the same.  The geometry of the bow is a little different but not by much.  I'll give you the exact measurement of the riser when I get home tonight.

All I can say is that my 58" has now turned into my back up bow!

Thanks for all the responses Gang! I really appreciate it!

Can you put a tape on the window?  I'd like to know the distance in inches from the shelf to the beginning of the curve at the top of the window. I want to compare to some other bows I own to see if the window on the 56" would constrain my view of the target.
Thanks

Roy,
I'll get you the measurements by tonight.  I'll also try to take a picture of the riser from the shooters point of view.

I've gotta 46" RW Stalker.  Shoots great upto 28" then hits a wall.  :bigsmyl:

A 56" would be plenty long.  I'd like to shoot one in a 3 piece TD.  That oughtta be pretty sweet.  :biglaugh:    :archer2:

Tom,
It's a 16 inch riser

Roy,
Here is the pics of the sight window.  I measured 3.5" to the lowest part of the beginning of the curve at the top of the window.

S2,
Excellent pictures -- it is very clear to me this window would not constrain my sight picture. I shoot my other bows. My 60" Pittsley Predators have only 4" windows and they are terrific.

I get the distinct feeling I'm being slowly reeled in here! I wonder if the fish like it as much as I do!

Ryan,

I just ordered a 56" as well from South. Should have my hands on it shortly. I'll be certain to post picks!

Sweet David!

I just love mine.  Can't wait to see the pics!

I just shot a small goat with mine last week.

Good Luck with your new bow!

Aloha!

It looks very pretty.I love myself short recurves @ my 29"draw.Most of my bows are 58" and I don't own any 62".Like Bowwild I love the Bear A TD that is 56",my Bruin ME 56" and my Bighorn 54".I never had a problem to shot those.
