Well this started about a month ago when I started looking for some new woods to use. I wanted some AMERICAN EXOTICS That I have seen used in other applications. After finding what I was looking for, things kept coming up and one phone call led to another email and so on. The next thing I know I am loading a big stack-o-wood into my rig and driving home, all the while thinking of what kind of hoops I will need to jump through to get said stack into my ever shinking shop. Well after I found a resting place for my new wood, I started to get excited about building a new bow out of some of it. I just could not decide what I wanted to use first, so I used as many different types as I could, and called my new creation "Pure Michigan" as all of the woods are cut and milled in our great state. In fact, all of the wood in this bow came from the same mill with the exception of the osage used for the I-beam, I cut that not far from my house a couple of years ago. I will share some pictures and ask for your input and fedback. Overall I am diggin it.
Riser: Spalted American Ash with Osage I-Beam.
Core: American Hard Rock Maple.
Back veneer: American Black Ash.
Belly veneer: Spalted American Hard Maple.
I will be adding a Black leather gripAfter my finish cures out fully.
Thanks for looking.Sorry for the blurry pics.
