I need dark veneer ideas for the back of the bow.
So show me your dark veneers!

Manny,  I know the feeling; I wish I would have ordered my Buffalo bow as a takedown.  I have a takedown Thunder Child on the way but I'll be putting an order in for a 2pc Buffalo bow as soon as I get the funds.

I saw a couple of Jim's bows at ATAR with Ziricote on the limbs and they were stunning!  If the 60#er would have been a takedown I would have brought it home.
Chasing my kids and my degree for now but come next fall the critters better look out.  ;)

Kenneth,Jims takedown system is second to none.If and when I order a Buffalo bow it will definately be a takedown.

I was going to suggest osage and coco riser too.  Thats what I like about the osage/coco w/ juniper limbs Buffalo I have now vs. the ash/bacote I had before.  It's a lot darker and I like that!

I do think ziricote is fantastic too an all the bows I've seen it on.

That's probably true!
Steve, we'll have to meet and shoot the bow

Brian, great bow you have, I remember how teasing it was to see your pictures when I was waiting for mine!

Kenneth, having a take down will make life easier for traveling, especially flying.
I'll go on a hog/javie hunt in February, so right now I'm searching for a sturdy 62" case!

For the veneers still debating.
I think I'll ask BigJim's advise soon!
I'll let everyone know what will be the outcome

redwood burl, man I bet that will have some serious character!

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

Manny, that redwood burl is out of this world!  I saw it on a bow he had a ATAR and it is a very unique looking wood.

Thanks for the info!
Ken and Chop, what I like in the redwood burl is that it's not a veneer you see in a lot of bows. To me it looks very powerful, and will go well with the outstanding coco BigJim uses.

That will be a long 5 months give or take to wait!
And I think I did well to take a decision now, because the wait time won't get any shorter.

As always it's a real pleasure to deal with BigJim

I don't know what you're talking about this one only took 3 days    :bigsmyl:

Yes I know I got extremely lucky.

I need to talk with Jim about a couple other things and I'm afraid my conversation won't stop at the accessories...F-Manny how could you do this to me?!

Veneer Supplies.com is a website where you can look at lots of options.  Jim said he could get about any of these when I was ordering my thunderchild two piece.  I had no idea there were so many walnut burl options.  Beautiful!
