Took a nice doe Saturday evening. Sorry I don't have pictures. I sprained my ankle pretty good getting it out and have been laid up for a couple days.  Thank God for aspirin and Kentucky Sour Mash!

Semo; I wish-hope you are correct. Our local agent told us that we have a non- permissive code . If it is not listed  don't do it. I also calledthe regional office and they told me that unless they are tearing up our pasture or yard then do not kill. If you need to kill then you have to contact your local agent first.  I also compleatly agree with your last paragraph. Jim

We need some dead critters on this thread.  So here goes.  Dad and I went to Chillicothe and hunted Saturday thru Tuesday morning.  I don't know what we were thinking, it was hot and all the crops were in. I did run into this old deaf, blind, and dumb doe.

Good job, Slap! I don't think that one is gonna win the bet for smallest deer, though.

I'm seeing turkeys every time I go out and had a couple small bucks grazing in the field in front of me tonight.

Got another doe tonight.  Sometimes its better to be lucky then good.  A girl I work with has a small farm close, I hunted there once last year.  I decided to take my climber and really do just a little recon.  Wouldn't you know it, I was not in my tree an hour before four does came walking up the hill toward me.  They passed my recon tree at 10 yards.

Fortunately for me Dad was in Springfield so I called him and he helped me find it.  Now he expects me to buy him breakfast.

Once I got home I had a little helper during the skinning process.

I shot this little guy at about 6:30 today. It all worked out like it's supposed to for once. I hunted this stand for the first time today and he was the first deer to come by, he stopped at about 20 yards and looked away. I picked a spot and the arrow found it's mark! He kicked his rear leg's high in the air as the arrow blew through him! He trotted off in a semi circle through the brush and I caught sight of him again at about 50 yards. He stopped and started to go down in the rear and then the front and it was over! The whole thing only took maybe two minutes from the shot to a dead deer!
I was shooting my 47# Border Black Douglas Hex-5 and 515gr. Axis 400's tipped with Muzzy Phantom 220gr. 4 blades, they sure did a nice job!

I have my wife to thank for the frilly pic! She got a bit carried away, but I ain't gonna tell her that.

You can see where the broadhead passed through.
