Rattling; when to start?

Is it too early to start rattling in Georgia?.....stabow

Season opened here in MD today and my buddy watched a couple bucks do a little friendly sparring this morning.

Once deer loose velvet it is time to rattle. Early just lightly tickle the tines.

I agree its never too early to tickle the tines.

A doe bleat can and doe urine are usually first out of my bag of tricks.

I'm a "hunt for meat in the freezer" kind of guy, and this is very much my humble opinion.

You never know when you might peek the curiosity of a passing buck.  I don't think light tickling of the antlers would hurt anything - at the same time I wouldn't expect to see big rutting bucks come charging in either.  Enjoy the hunt!

Heading over to Georgia for a little hunting this weekend and though I would give it a try......stabow

Once the bachelor groups break-up rattle away.  Just lightly tickle the horns early.
