Somebody please decide for me...
« on: September 16, 2010, 07:17:00 PM »
Im struggling over here! I have always been a 100% bow quiver guy. Problem now is I shot all year without one and loved the lightness of my bow. I have a back quiver, but it just seems like it will be awkward and loud to me. I need to make a decison on a quiver style VERY soon before I carry a few arrows out in my hands and probably get hurt LOL! Somebody decide for me please! Im open to any type of quiver, I hunt 75% in a tree and 25% in a pop-up.

Use a bow quiver you can take off once your in your stand or blind....best of both worlds. You can carry your arrows and then shoot your bow without it on.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

You can do what Ron W suggests or you can get a GFA type quiver (or make one yourself...very simple to do) or get an SafariTuff Arrowmaster. I like both types and use them about equally as much depending on where or what I will be hunting.

I must admit the GFA style has caught my attention the most. Its is similar to what ron w suggested. My only concern is hauling my Lone Wolf around with that style quiver. Will it be in the way?

Ron W has a good suggestion. I just watched a video of Big Jim demonstrating the one he sells. Looks good, and I've heard good reviews of it. His site is on the drop down sponsors listing above.

Great tip Danny. I just watched the vid and your right, looked very good and he demonstrated putting it on and taking it off. Looks simple to me, and solid.

I like the side/back style like the dawgwares or the safarituff arrowmaster.

If I had to decide on one off the bow quiver it would be the Cat quiver II from Rancho Safari.

Denny, my brother-in-law uses one and totally loves it. He wouldn't consider a bow quiver even if I got him drunk first!

I use a bowquiver that I can take off the bow. In fact, the bow I'm hunting with has the closely spaced inserts most commonly found on compounds (for Lynx and other type quivers). I use a Mathews Spyder bowquiver. It just requires a siple twist to take on or off. I take it off the bow in the tree or the blind.

If you are set on not using a bow quiver at all it is hard to beat a Safari Tuff.

Even though I use a bow quiver quite a bit I always have a Safari Tuff along in case I decide to switch.

Basically the only off bow quiver I will use for hunting.

Let's see, I've got 3 back quivers, 3 side quivers, and 3 different bow quivers.  Oh yeah, and a Lakota style too.  I still don't know what quiver I'll use any time I go out.  :dunno:

Back quiver all the way for me.  Check out this thread for some good tips on using one:

No attached quivers on my bow anymore. BQ only for a number of years. Once broken in, it will do all you ask.
