Impressive! I never had the guts to try a Snakewood riser due to it's reputation as an unstable wood that is easy to check and split. Gorgeous bow! Congrats to u and bowyer.
Aim down your arrow because thats where it's going.

I've been buying small pieces of snakewood for knife scales. A piece that size must have added some pretty solid mass to the riser and I don't even want to think what that hunk of wood cost.

You sure got a one-of-a-kind bow there!

I love the look of snakewood which is why I have a gorgeous Blacktail Snakebit bow. This bow by Jim is among the most beautiful I have seen -- relatively subdued, but elegant in every respect, including the spectacular woods and outstanding execution. Jim, although I prefer your 2 piece bows, you have set a new high mark in your craftsmanship with this bow and have demonstrated that you are at a level very few bowyers have reached. Congratulations to you on your achievement and to Billy on his ownership of such a fine example of a bowyer's art!

A lot of time goes into that type of finish.
I love it.

I've always been a fan of Jim's 2-piece but got to see his 3-pieces at Tannehill and all I can say is WOW!

That is an incredible bow!  I need to catch-up with Big Jim at a show and see his bows first hand.  Definitely on my bucket list!  Thanks for sharing...
