ARROWS HITTING WRONG
« on: September 18, 2010, 09:20:00 PM »
Need a little help with my "tuning". I have 4 sets of arrows ( different spines ). The wood shaft arrows shoot the best as far as accuracy goes but they hit sideways ( looks like I stood to the side of the target and shot. I shoot righthanded and the arrows are hitting slightly to the left of the center but they go in with the nocks left of the point. Any help will be appeciated. The bow is a Herters 37 lb pull@ 28", 69" long. Nocking point is 3/8" high with a feather rest and rubber silencer on string.

What spine are the wooden arrows? Secondly, how long is the finished arrow? Third, what is your point weight?

The arrows are from 3 rivers, they have a light pressed on point.

An old Herters....I would recommend 40-45# spine, cut 29.5" if you draw a true 28" and 125 gr field points.

I think you are underspined-your arrows are not stiff enough, which is what Joe said. Lower your point weight, shorten your shafts a half inch to an inch, or get stiffer shafts.

Thanks guys, I'll try that. I'll get a few stiffer spine and try that.
