"equipment"....? That doesn't include bows does it? I'd rather not think about it. Whatever it is, it is sure worth it!

To stinkin much!

I had to put several bows the other day cause it's a couple weeks till season and I can;t quit shooting them. I dedicated myself to my selfbow I made and my Striker for the early season.

I could pay an extra four or five months on my morgage every year if I didn't hunt but what kind of life would that be. I always say I don't any new gear but always end up spending about a grand or better and that don't include tags or anything else.

license-- free (lifetime license has paid for itself already in tags over the years)
Dozen arrows -- 80 bucks
Broadheads -- 25
Thats about it unless its one of those years I need to replace a jacket or pair of pants.  But other than that i spend more money each year on turkey hunting than i do on three months of deer season.

Turkey Season is something like this
Custom Call - 40
Face mask/gloves - 25
Travel/Lodging for out of state - 300
Tags - 120

But my wife and I agree Im a terrible person to live with, if I dont get to hunt.  So the both of us consider it to be priceless.  hahahaha

Finally got her around to my kind of thinking.

If I count the bows, this would be my most expensive year ever. But, I'll count only one of them since that's all I'm hunting with.

--KY License -- $110
--IN NR License -- $150
--Sika Camo Clothing/Packs--$600 (but I like it)
--The Stick (recurve)-- $800
--Broadheads -- $40
--Bow quiver -- $110
--2 Shooting Gloves -- $40
-- Fuel for IN -- $300
-- 2 trail cameras -- $357

I think that's it for this year. Usually, I don't buy any bows but I'll buy a tree stand. This is the first year I've bought Sika camo and the first time I've bought trail cameras. Looks like around $2,500. That would have been 1/6th of my annual salary in 1978!

Ouch.... I don't think I'll play this game of tattle-tale again!

If I included fuel to scout all summer...!

I consider what I spend part of my vacation/recreational/mental health/physical health allowance.

With tags, fuel and being smart about equipment probably 350.00 to 450.00.

I need to eat anyway so don't figure in food.

This year thousands.  I spent most of it rigging out 6 other shooters of which I am hunting with 3 of them.  For me usually $300 to $500 a year.

Second year of trad and looking to make my first longbow kill this weekend.  Got blown out by the wind a lot chasing elk early season.

Are we talkin' what I actually spend or what I tell my wife I spend???   :biglaugh:

I'll say 10% of my net income on average. That is what it has been for my whole adult life. Thank God my income keeps going up every year  ;)

Well I think this year will cost more than any of the others for me. I am gonna get myself a Canon GL2, for filming my hunts . . . looks like the cheapest I can get that for is a grand! So basically I have no money for anything else  :biglaugh:

no in all seriousness that purchase really goes under "business investment" but it will get some hours in the woods as well.

I would say that in between the fall and spring season's I buy a couple dozen shafts and other materials I need. Usually I only spend that money plus 70 bucks for my lisence. Maybe 200 total dollars, but this year I need clothing, so I expect something close to 450!?! But I have not bought the clothing yet, so I really don't know, lol

Well, In North Dakota about $50.00 in licenses.

In Minnesota about $1000.00 because I pay about $800 a year in taxes alone on some hunting property, plus nonres license.

Equipment this year ran about $650, (new to me bow,new camo).

Gas probably $300-$400.  So I am pushing past two grand.

Hmmm, are you going to tell my wife???  Actually, this year will be minimal.  I have purchased between one and two hundred dollars worth of arrow shafts, feathers, strings, a couple super nice knives because I only ever bought walmart specials, and maybe a glove or two.  Last year, well $960.00 for a lifetime license but so far I saved a 110 bucks for this year.  And another new black widow last year.  She knows how much they cost, though.  And a bunch of nice wool so I may be all set for quite awhile.  Other stuff I aquired this year was by trade, so I only have shipping invested.  No deer last year but I enjoyed every minute in the mountains.

I never think of bows, hunting, guns, deer, camp, boots, sleeping bags or anything else pertaining to my pursuit of the Connection in the same brain cell with money. I buy what I need, and can afford.

I don't even begin to try to keep up with it. I'm just happy if I've got the money to buy whatever I need when I need it.

Let's See Now......... I like to think that I earn my time away from home, work and the wife to hunt. Not gonna put it in $$$ terms, just time equal spent like.

Nine days straight of second floor renovations means... The first nine days of Archery Season belong to me! Get the picture? Take care of stuff at home and the rest is gravy.   ;)

... mike ...

PS... I told Joe Skipp I'd be in the woods a lot this season. Better make good.....
