Bow limbs!!! I'm a snake skin guy. I have to put 'em on almost everything. But I do love crazy grain veneers too. But then theres nothing more relaxing than going out with a simple black or clear glass bow thats tried and true and you don't need to worry about scratching...
Whatta you trads like? Any pics?????

i have been seeing alot of nice wood veneers latly.some of them have been breathtaking.snakes are nice looking too.man it is so hard to choose.i think i wood go with veneers.just my 2 cents.good luck on your choice,steve

my bow has a brown riser with black limbs (black glass).
the finish is pretty messed up at the part, where arrows sometimes touch the bow.
but hey, its a beginners bow and most of the "scars" have a story to tell so i dont hate em and wont spray them over or so.
i would be veeeery careful if i hate such nice bows as yours though. :-)
out of them i think i like the one on the very right most.
I wouldnt put snake skin on my bow, i like the look of nice wood more.
someone recently posted his new bow, which had awesome looking limbs, dont remember what wood it was...

I love gnarly bocote as a veneer, and plain old red elm is as beautiful as any too.

Here's a funny one, as I was skinning the copperheads for the middle set, I was explaining to my son how you shouldn't skin towards and upside down venemous snakes head...because if you slip there's a chance you could catch a fang into your hand because they are folded back with the mouth closed. As soon as I said this I slipped and got a fang deep in the middle finger. I was fine but it scared the hell out of both of us.
I've done a lot of dumb things.

My favorite is stained Red Elm but Juniper is a close second.

I love exotic veneers. I like the curly, wavey, and birdseye maple, highly figured myrtle, and like another above "gnarly" bocote.

My wife is very tolerant of my passion for archery if I quit archery today she'd still have 13 years (32 married) to catch up with my bows. She is deathly fearful of snakes. I wouldn't dare bring a snakeskinned bow in the house--I'd awake with a giant spider in my eye (my nemisis).

I'm having a Rose Oak Super Wildcat made in Cocobolo and Bodote. I'm still trying to decide the woods on a Schafer Silvertip. I'm thinking Dymonwood Rosewood and Bocote on that one so I can go with FF. Although Macassar Ebony with lots of light streaks would be beautiful and heavier.

I like them all, Skins, crazy grain veneer or the simple flowing lines in a piece of Osage......BUT they gotta shoot else they aint worth a dime.

This was a rosewood diamondwood Tip I had made for my buff hunt. Had it made with black glass....but of course had to put red rat snake on to match that riser. Dave's rosewood dymondwood looks just like cocobolo, beautiful. I can think of a dozen exotics that would look killer with a riser like that.. Sad though, this bow I sold!!!! What a dummy.

the veneers they are coming out with are awesome. MY PCH is a curly bubinga just awsome. But my favorite is my morrison snakeskins are awesome.

I like all three options It really depends on my mood. Right now I'm into the veneers (bocote and juniper are my favorites) but my Morrison diamondbacks are hard to ignore.

Bob M. does some of the best snakeskin applications I've seen. I just bought a Shawnee second hand with easterns and sheep tips and caps. They look incredible.

Beautiful Tip YORNOC! I'll sure agree that rat hide was made for your bow.

Still, I have visions of my wife swatting the tar out of my bow with a broom early some morning if it had snake hides on it.

Dave is going to put whitetail antler in a couple of places from a special deer I killed back in 1981.
