Tippit Pound Cake knife has a new sheath!
« on: September 26, 2010, 03:49:00 PM »
I was the lucky recipient of the grand Tippit donation of one of his great knives to the "non-winning" LLC following the great bidding war over Lil' D's pound cakes.

Lil' D's sticky fingers pulled my name out of the basket!

I figured this knife should have a grand sheath to go with it, so I contacted our very own "Roughcountry", Robin Severe out in Oregon.

To say he worked his magic is an understatement.  Great leather (even has some kangaroo on the inside)  and even greater leather work!

I've been in and out of town a good bit lately and haven't had the time to take photos.  Robin - thank you so much for this great sheath.

Jeff will be happy that this sheath fits his "signature" flair to a "T".

Now, I'll just have to have some success this season to really put this great knife to good use!

Lil' D, Jeff and Robin - thank you all so much.

YOWZA!

There goes your hunting. No scouting, no stealthy stalking through the depths of autumnal glory, no glimpse of white flags in the gloaming of dawn...

The deer will walk up and offer their throats, the turkeys knocking politely on the trunk you lean against in half-slumber.

Fate worse than death, if you ask me.
Lemme know if I can help you out.

Robin,
What a beautiful way to carry a knife.  My knives typically ride in the back of my pack or PU.  I hope the rest of them don't see this   ;)

Tony,
Hope it works well for you...tippit

Thanks folks......

Killi - I hope it is so.....but I won't hold my breath!!!

The knife/sheath will be with me in Maine for my cow moose hunt in two weeks.  Jeff - if all goes well, I'll try to get it bloody and broken in!

Thanks folks.......actually the "thanks" need to go to Robin....like I said...he's a master!

It's almost too nice to wear on my hip.....but that's exactly where it's going!

A tremendous amount of credit has to go to Jeff as well.......those "tippit" knives are becoming classics!  We'll be calling him "Master Doc" pretty soon......I know this knife is the finest that I own!

Tony, you take great pics. I gotta admit, I've been wanting to try building a sheath for one of Jeffs flaired finger guards for awhile now. Thanks for the chance and I hope that blade feels as good in your hand as it did in mine.

Good luck on your hunt, hope the sheath rides well on your belt and the blade gets color on it.
