Acorns everywhere out where I was. The wind was moving along pretty good and with the ground so wet I saw a couple of trees come down. Deer weren't moving but I figured I'd better. LOL Couldn't hunt the afternoon because of family commitments, back at it tomorrow though.

Well day 2 was better then the 1st. Today i was in a stand sitting over alot of acorns and i had a deer come in. At the time i thought it was a desent size doe. Little did i no that i had just missed twice on a skipper as i saw the mom walk up the middle of the ridge to far to shoot. I didnt relise just how small the deer i had shot at because i havent seen a big deer hunting untill today. So today was overall good experience even though my arrows found the dirt and not the deer.

Schafer, the best way to tell those skippers from mamas is look at the nose size.

At least you got some action today. And you made clean misses.

Better luck next time out.

I had a mom and a fawn come by around 7 but no other deer.Played with the squirrels a bit but no luck.I'm back out in a few.

Just at the end of the day I saw a doe with twins that still needed her so she got a pass. A spike, not legal and a big one too far away to get a count on his rack but he was a shooter for here. At least I know one good one is in there.

Sat at one of my apple tree stands tonight and saw a total of no deer. Might have to give up on the apple trees in the pm and head to the oaks.

6 hunts so far, only seen deer twice.  Almost killed a doe, but the wind swirled right before she made the final step to clear some brush, and shot over ones back.  Hoping tonight is the night.

No shots yet for me...not even an opportunity yet.Have seen deer.Nothing tonite.

This dry year has changed our deer herd's patterns here around the house very drastically.

Sat in the oaks tonight. I guess they found a sampling of acorns in a different patch of woods.  :banghead:

Elbow, tell Chris congratulations for me. I agree with Rich, they start howling seems like every night before I even get out of my stand. Get Chris to join the gang!
