Sleeping in the woods
« on: September 27, 2010, 12:43:00 AM »

I just found and scanned this picture of my daughter. It is from a couple, er few, or maybe several years ago. She is sleeping and the snoring actually is what got my attention.

We had travelled all night to Idaho. Stopped and picked up our horses we had left at a friends house. Set up camp and climbed a thousand feet or so.  We had set up and I was calling when I heard an unusual sound behind me.  I carefully turned, making no sudden movements.  Then I heard it again and located the sound.  Cristi, snoring!
What a great memory!

GOD bless her, she was tired, I've done it a few times myself & a great photo.

Do you still tease her about it from time to time?

Have a buddy who falls asleep all the time while hunting! He does not like regular treestands but climbs trees ecsp. pines and gets comfy and even fall asleep in them. I have actually seen deer several times standing in front of the tree he is in and wonder, why ain't he shooting. I find out later he was asleep!! Shawn

Making memories...  That is why I like to spend time with my boys in the woods. Its just us.

There is something very peaceful about a nice nap while in the woods.  I fall asleep in my climber pretty often where I feel pretty safe and comfortable, or against a nice tree works pretty darn well too.

Bigarcher,

If she finds this thread, she's sooo going to hurt you!  :)

Your photo brought back memories of my youth.  My dad often took me deer hunting when I was very young. Inevitably, I would fall asleep and would awaken to the sound of his shot. Usually he would let me "find" his deer. Pretty exciting stuff for a kid. Thanks for reminding me.

My buddy and I actually take turns napping sometimes. Better than us both sleeping at the same time !

I am glad folks enjoyed this.
Yes, She still gets teased. A little.
The quiver is red fox that I made for her.
It seems like hardly any time has passed and yet now I am starting to take her son hunting with me.
