Heck of a weekend, hillbilly surf-n-turf
« on: September 27, 2010, 12:04:00 PM »
I planted this fall plot on my farm in Ohio about a month ago. It's been dry but the recent rain and cool temps have got it going now.

Saturday was opening day in Ohio and this doe decided to come into this plot around 6:15 PM.

I was blessed with a chip shot from my stand and am very thankful to have some venison for the freezer this early in the season. I used a home made 3-piece take down longbow, Gold Tip Traditional arrow and Magnus 2-blade on this hunt.

Started the weekend on Friday on the Salmon River in NY...

-Brian

What a week-end! Plenty of good eats for the freezer.  I live just south of the Salmon River, on the Little Salmon River.

Brian- your food plot looks real good. What did you plant, looks like a mix of rape & turnip?
Congrats on the doe & salmon!

Hey Brian, way to go! With success like that, go buy a lottery ticket somewhere quick, you are on a roll! Cool pic of that doe at the food plot, looks like it really draws them in, and awsome fish you caught too. Thanks for posting, that's my kind of surf and turf pics.     :clapper:

Now that is my kind of surf and turf

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs
