I got out in the stand on Sunday morning, our second day of the season. Around 8:30 a.m. I looked through the pine trees and saw the biggest buck i've ever seen on the hoof. He was only 35 to 40 yards away in the pines and coming right for my shooting lanes. I was in a ladder stand leaning back against the tree, and in my excitement I stood up too fast and the bark caught in my treestand harness and tore off a piece. The buck stopped, hearing the bark fall and looked in my direction for a few minutes before deciding something wasn't right and headed back the way he came. I was so excited, but learned a valuable lesson about "buck fever".I'll be back at it this weekend though for sure! Anyone able to seal the deal?
