G'day fellas,
Yes it has been awhile since I last posted but I've been busy with life, a new job and such that my year has really gotten away from me!
So I thought I needed to get away for the day to scout of some Chital deer country that I've not been to in a year or so. At this stage i'm waiting on shoulder surgery - a badly seperated shoulder is not fun - so it was just young master Samuel Kidner who would be stalking the woods with his new custom TD recurve.
Me, well I was running in my new camera and 500m lens and it was my job as lead scout and photographer.
A wee bit of stump shooting is always in order...
And these termite homes on trees sure do make top targets to shoot at...
And after a short while we were on the trail f a stag or two. Today I was teaching my son some light tracking skills in the bush, looks as if we are on the trail... just what every tracker seeks.... evidence...
And naturally a fine bow helps too...
But it was a warm day for Spring here in aussie, even the locals felt the heat...
So it was time to have a cool drink and a bite to eat...
After we cooled off in the shade we then pick up the spoor again and wlked into what we thought would make a fine backpack camping area. It had large Black Oak trees placing a shady cover over a fine patch of bush.... but I got the feeling the deer would like it just as much as we would... and I was right....
This yearling staying around long enough for a snap...
That was very much our day and I thought I share it with my Trad Gang friends...
Cheers,
ak.
