I was trying out a new stand yesterday to get used to how it attaches.  My 5 year old Zeke wanted to sit in it.  Then he wanted to fling a few arrows.  The competition is gonna be fierce in the Strickland house in the next few years.  I pray he enjoys the outdoors as much as I do and we have many years together to share it.

I love it man!!  My boys are the same way, It Awsome to watch them grow and find interests in the same things we do.

Give him a pat on the back and take him to the woods.  Let him "hunt" out of that stand.  Even if it is only 2' off the ground, he will have a blast.

I think you are in trouble.  He looks like he is bearing down in that second pic!

edit....just noticed in the third pic.....looks like he's thinking "beat that dad!"  :biglaugh:

HATCHCHASER

The first pic I caught almost at anchor.  The second pic I caught as he was releasing.(he pulls through his release better than me).  The third pic I was a tad late on his follow through, notice he still hadn't dropped the bow arm.  I hope to take him in the ground blind some this year.

I pray that for you too. I am 37 and just met my dad on the road this morning where we pulled over to dicuss when our schedules would allow us to hunt together.  It will be an afternoon hunt tomorrow.

And look at that, you caught the little rascal on camera! LOL!

Really great to see it, and I too pray he grows to love the woods as much as his pappy. Atta boy!

That is sooooo cool man! Congrats!

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

I have been there too.  You put up a nice new tree stand at just the right spot, you turn your back on it and the first thing, someone else claims it and you are back to sitting on a bucket in the middle of a brier patch so you don't cut off the deer heading for the tree stand.

I'll guarantee you he is bearing down in the second pic! You might as well start buying more stands.

That's the coolest thing I've seen in awhile. You are going to have to trade that climber in for a 2 seater ladder stand real soon! Then you are just going to have to suck it up and let him take the first shot, then you can take a back up shot if need be, but from what I see so far there won't be any need for a back up shot. I bet if he could pull about 35-40 pounds he'd be killing deer already?
That's gotta be the greatest thing to see for a father. Good for you and your one lucky daddy!

He can hit his mark purty good. That is an 8 pound pull Fred bear. He has about an 18 pound maddog but he can't control it well yet. I know it wont be long and all too soon. He's growing up fast. Maybe he'll get a shot at a tree rat this year. Thanks for looking. I'm sure proud.    :campfire:

Very nice.  I spent the better part of MOJAM watching my boys shoot...until they found some older girls. Even at seven they were off the range. Keep him shootin.
