thinking of going wood

was thinking of trying out some wood shafts shooting carbon from a trad bow just doesnt feel right.  i shoot a 60# recurve a preffer to shoot a 28" arrow doesnt matter to me what point wieght i shoot.  Any suggestions? type of wood to shoot spine point wieght?  thanks for the ideas   wont be able to test anythign for awhile do to an injurey from a tree stand failur that isnt healing the best.

You will need a spine approx 10#'s heavier than you bow draw weight. Cedar and fir are my favorites for woods. Good luck and a speedy recovery from your tree stand issue.

Love my surewoods. If you search them you'll get lots of input. Great workability and durability. For me wood shafts just seem mystical.

Wood is cool, and there is I think, a possibly higher satisfaction in taking a critter with a "home built" arrow but.............

they just aren't as durable, and a day of stump shooting or 3D can trash a lot of hard work.\\

Shooting 3D alone means carbons for me- I like to shoot the bowhunter and MBR stakes often

you can't go wrong shooting wood.it just feels right with my longbow.i shoot cedar.here latly i have been shooting bamboo and rivercane from my selfbows.bamboo really is natures carbon.very tough and forgiving.building your own arrows is alot of fun and very rewarding.good luck with the wood and good luck with your healing,steve

Get a 55-60,60-65,65-70 test kit. There is no diehard formula that works everytime. I highly recommend test kits. Ive got lots of POC laying around that didnt work to prove it!

Get with Fletcher he can hook you up with some nice shafts.His arrows are a work of art,and you can them done to fit you.
