Grizzly Broadhead Kill Pics... Who has got them?
« on: October 03, 2010, 09:01:00 PM »
In the market for some Grizzly broadheads eventually, but was wondering just how lethal these things are...

Anyone have any pictures of some game taken with their grizzlies?

Those are my only two so far but I'm working on it.Both were sharpened on the KME.The doe went down in 35 yds,a pass through.

The buck was at a trot and the Grizzly cut through the humerus, just in front of the elbow. It poked out the opposite shoulder but the shaft snapped off, just behind the head, the head staying in.This is the damage on the exit shoulder,no doubt caused from running. Those broadheads were sharp.

Hi Clint,

Lookin for Grizzly BHD kill shots and stories? If you go to our website, you'll find 9 or 10 in the KME Trophy Room. (Some have the stories to go with the picture). Go to the KME home page, click on BHD sharpeners and you'll see the link to the trophy room at the top of the page.

JimB, Very nice!    I'd love to add your pics (and any info you might like to share) to the KME Trophy Room too. Thanks,

Ron

almost all of my trad kills are with griz heads! I shoot between 2 and 5 deer per year. If you get them extremely sharp, they are great. Ever since I started using stones and strops to finish them off I get shaving heads and GREAT blood trails you wouldn't expect from 2 blade heads. Most of the deer drop within sight, 30-50 yds. If they are not "sharp enough", the blood trails are noticeably less IMO

Go to the KME home page, click on "BHD sharpeners" then you'll see the link to the "trophy room" at the top of BHD sharpener page. If you click on the pictures you'll get a larger version and quite a few of them have stories to go with them. Oh, and I think you'll see some familiar faces/names there too.

JimB, I'll send you a PM.

And Rick, I love that picture and the story that goes with it even more

Now where is Kingwouldbe??? He's got more Grizzly BHD kills than most of us have total kills...

Here is one of 2 bucks I killed last season. After the shot he ran about 20 yards stopped and turned around and gave up the ghost. 190 grain grizzly with 125 grain adapter.

I just started shooting the grizzlys this fall, I won't use them for hunting till next year, but after much research I have decided to make them my broadhead of choice, I have the 160 and 200 Elgrandes and have been using the premium steel adaptors with them and they both fly great, I could not be more pleased, can't wait to use them on game, till then I'll just keep practicing with them and use the heads I am comfortable with for this year. Here's a few...

I've shot my last seven deer with Griz 190's and I love them.  BUT... Make sure you learn how to get them sharp or you won't be happy with them.
