Ok guys her goes bare with me i'm not that good of a writer.
First off i must tell you we were hunting bears with dogs at my hunt club and i'm the only person shooting a bow. If you have never hunted bears with dogs you don't know what your missing. The morning started out kind of slow with us treeing 1 small bear 125lbs approx. we worked hard to get a guy hunting with us in to position to shot the bear but he decided to let this one go even though he has never killed one, and I must add the fellow is in a wheel chair so that made it more challenging for us. While the guys were catching the dogs I scouted a track to hunt. We decided on turning out on a bear i've been tracking an scouting the last 2 years. It didnt take long before we had the bear on his feet. The bear crossed into a meadow headed for a big pond, I was on the other end watching as the bear an dogs are headed my way the dogs were surounding the bear like indians surounding a stagecoach with the bear swating and slapping every dog he could reach. I will never forget the sight of that bear an dogs in the meadow. its hard to describe. The bear at that time ducked in a hedgerow an funneled directly to me like i had a string on him. I shot the bear the 1st time at 7 ft coming directly at me. I had a friend with me with a gun an he baled on me. He tells everybody that I have the biggest B_LLS of anybody he knows to stand face to face with that bear. Maybe i'm a little crazy i dont know I tell them If your gonna hunt bears you got to leave your skirt at the door, but anyway I hit the bear in the front shoulder and he crossed a dam where he had to go across a big cutover where I got in front of him again an this time the bear charged me and i shot him a 2nd time right behind the shoulder at about 10 feet. The bear went 40 yards with me in persuit behind him an he got up one me time at which I put a 3rd arrow in his side and the great bear still went 50 more yards before expiring. This was a hunt I will never forget I only wish my son would have been there with me. I hope this was not to painfull for anybody to read.
