Finished up two 495 gn bamboo shafts and tipped them with 145 gn stone points last week to shoot out of my 48# bamboo backed Osage that I finished this summer. Got up this morning and over my coffee I saw where Batman shot his second buck and was telling my wife about it and she replied some backstrap would be good for supper. So being the hunter/gatherer that I am I finished my coffee grabbed my new setup and went to my blind. About 45 min later the straps arrived. She was quartering away at 15 yds when I shot she ducked and bolted I hit a little high and back. After about five miniutes I heard her in the briar thicket I went to where I hit her and found blood so I gave her about 30 min and tracked her about 20 yards into the briars and she was expired. I hit a main vein or the blunt force trauma from that stone point killed her. The best part of the day was I did not break my arrow or point cause I was kinda hatein to lose my new arrow it's a lot of work building them things.
