A double for TBone
« on: October 11, 2010, 07:35:00 PM »
I decided to try out my "new" hunting boot today. Right now I got about 1500 bucks in it and its probably gonna go way up from there.....

I`m good for about 50 yards in it right now. There is a lot of big Water oaks in my yard and one is pouring acorns right now. The other day I saw 7 treerats in it at one time. My wife usually has a ban on killing critters around the house but due to my short traveling range she has ok`d me to gaff tree rats. These are woods critters and not tame town ones. I live in the woods.
I bought a bunch of these "adder" ? small game things that go behind a field point and fixed me up a bunch of small game arrows.

Well I strapped on my "hunting" boot and grabbed "TBone" my Mohawk longbow and slipped outside. I was gonna sit in my Waldrop seat I borrowed from Chris Spikes and really just enjoy being out of the house and shoot a few arrows from the chair . In a matter of minutes tree rats were moving. Were probably there the whole time I just did`nt see or hear them as I have`nt had my "woods" ears on in a while. One ran up the side of a tree and went out on a limb and stopped in the open.I shot for the crack between the squirrell and the limb. So if I missed I would`nt send my arrow in the swamp. I hit a tad high and centered the squirrel. He hit the ground.

I sat tight and nocked another arrow. Everything was still for a minute then another bushytail ran up the side of a tree and stopped about 5 feet up. I looked at his head because I figured he would go up at the shot and he just sat there and got head shot. Two shot and Two squirrels.Seems like a simple deal but when you been tied to the couch for a week it was a Safari.RC

My wife has a boot just like that. I'd have sold it to you for a lot less than $1500! Good shooting and good luck for a speedy recovery. Hap

RC, you are a very dangerous man... in a very good way!  Keep after it, but take care of yourself.
