Dose pee spook deer?

I never thought it made a difference to a deer to smell human urine. Started carrying a bottle to my stand, and gave it up. No difference in deer reaction.

Here is another thing to look at. I have had "meat fed red fox urine" work better for cover scent than skunk scent.

Peeing from a stand - I have shot a deer 5 minutes after peeing from the stand. I have also been busted and yelled at by deer watching me pee. I had a nice buck duck his head and watch me pee. I guess all in all I've had alot of fun while peeing.
I think it would depend on the day, I would not dose up on vitamins prior to going hunting nor would I eat asparagus, other than that - go pee.
I don't think the deer care for snuff but have no real verdict on that one.

NO i have have put in a lot of time testing this with trail cam and also using trail cam at scrapes. i drink A LOT of coffee and on a 5 hour stand sit i bet i go atleast 10 times!

I'm just impressed that anybody can sit still and then hit a deer with that much caffeine in 'em!  I ain't as young as I once was and 10 times doesn't sound all that excessive to me, Ken.

I hate to hijack the thread here, but I've been peeing out of the stand lately and today it stopped several hogs dead in their tracks. I described what happened in my First Trad Kill thread and I think the pee spooked the pigs. Either they smelled the ground under my tripod where i have walked, and proceeded no further or they smelled my pee. From what i could see they were sniffing the pee. Directly under me and behind me. Something made these hogs change their mind and I can't figure it out.

i never could get used to the idea of walkin around in the wood with a pee bottle, so i didnt.i also dont think that deer are inteligent enough to differentiate between human, fox, bear, rabbit, bird, canine, or feline pee, so i just pick a tree and pee. i.p. freely

Remember Murphy's law as soon as you pull it out they will show up and you will be caught with the wrong piece of hunting gear in your hand.

Always heard deer arent spooked by pee. Always heard deer like tobacco juice. I can get really fresh RedMan since its made down the road, but I'm a Copenhagen guy myself! Phil

been there done that. Doe stopped at 20 trying to figure out what the waterfall was coming from the tree.

One study several years ago concluded that human urine did not spook deer and that, in fact, it was a deer attractant!
The only better news would have been that the most effective urine was made up of Coors Light.

When the water pill kicks in believe me you will go.  Getting to a water bottle is not an option!  I pissedd twice today and none of the 5 does and fawns at the feeder this evening gave it or me a second glance.  I was 20 yards away and was considerate enough of the ladies in the group to turn my back to them.  There was none to very little wind and it was sidways to the deer.  First day first time for me so can't say as I have a wealth of experience to fall back on.
