The downside to drawing a late season tag is...
« on: October 16, 2010, 03:01:00 PM »
...the wait. This year I drew a limited entry deer tag for the November late season. While other bowhunters were in the deer woods in September, I was at home eagerly awaiting November to arrive. I did make it out to the forest a couple of times to chase grouse with my longbow, but my heart wasn't really into it because I have mulies on my mind.

C'mon, November! Please get here! Soon!

I shot a doe whitetail down in the Blues, and now wish I could hunt in November.  Good luck with that late tag.  Where did you draw the tag for?

The tag is for the Entiat unit. The anticipation is driving me crazy.

I hear ya. I drew a Nov.20-30 muley tag for eastern Oregon. I know the area pretty well. I talked with a friend who just got back from rifle buck hunting the area...there were some big boys that escaped the smoke stick season! Hope the rut is still going on by then.

Shinken: Yes, I'm going to attempt hang tough. But the operative word is "attempt". We'll have to wait and see how that works out.  :D

Snag: Good luck to you on that Eastern Oregon muley tag. I've hunted Eastern Oregon a couple of times and absolutely loved it.

That should be a good hunt.  I work in the entiat all summer, saw some nice deer this year.  Good luck to you!
