A Day Hunting with Cade...in Pictures...

A lot of planning went into this first hunt in a stand for Cade...

We got in plenty early, and before it was even light, he'd fallen asleep...don't worry he was strapped in!

Just when it was barely light enough to see outlines against the ground, a buck came in right under us. I woke Cade up, and even though it was pretty dark, he got his sleepy eys focused enough to make it out.

I looked through my Leica's and could make out a small basket with 7-8pts.  He walked away.

Time to strip down. Teaching him right off the bat the importance of scent control. We never wear our cloths or boots anywhere but the woods. He has an unscented cloths bin just like I do for all his cloths, harness, and pack...

We didn't see a thing in the afternoon(75 deg. when we walked in), but we sure had a great time. Hard for me to capture in words what this day meant to me... A lot of good times ahead for us
