Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I believe Black Widow does have a try before you buy program so that may help. Also Morrison has a couple of more options than BW. You could go with the One piece Dakota, or the three piece Cheyenne and Shawnee but don't forget you can also use Bob's ILF longbow configuration. So it's not such a simple comparison.

As a Black Widow and Morrison owner I love them both. So I don't think you would be making a bad choice either way. Honestly really depends on what exactly you want.

My idea was actually the best one. Buy one of each, then report back. Of course, implicit in that was that you'd need to send the bows to several of us for corroboration of your findings!

Both are top bows-you have to try them for several days each-it is simply going to be a personal preference thing.

I have owned some recurves of both, both companys make super nice high quality recurve bows. I prefered the forward handle riser and high brace height of the BW recurves..you may not.

Those are my two favorite bows, so get at least one of each would be the correct answer.

Had one PL take down...I passed it on.  I still have and am totally satsified with my Shawnee/Dakota 3 piece and my Mini 13 riser with 'C' Carbon Maple cored Lb limbs.

I have owned several widows over the years, the PL was the only one I regret letting go of.  As stated above, you really need to try them out as neither are "economy bows".

I do think the Morrisons are considerably faster and come with the option of ordering several more "Custom Features".
I also know that in my case, I shoot them alot better.

BTW the one piece Dakota's I have owned would also be my choice if I was looking for another 1 piece.

In my opinion, BW makes better recurves than longbows. You can't go wrong with Bob's longbows either the Shawnee or Dakota. Performance wise I'd put my money on the Morrison.
