+1 for the danner jackel. You can get them insulated or non insulated and are waterproof

I like to hunt in 2 pairs of wool socks when the weather permits. I'm on the band wagon on this one with cabela's. On a late season hunt I had a pair of their gore-tex boots leak on me. I went into their store and ask what I needed to do to exchange the boots. They said just bring them in and get what you want. I told them that the boots were wet and muddy,it still didn't matter. I traded the boots I had for a new and better boot the silent stalk sneakers and have been very pleased ever since. I am very tough on boots I will wear out a poor quailty boots in few months,I have had this set since late 2005 and still going strong. They are steath light and durable. I'm sure there are alot of good foot wear out there but cabela's has always treated me like a VIP. They might not always be the cheapest but they are competive and understand customer service very well and they always have my size 14's in stock!

I used to wear mocs to hunt and they are super quiet - right up until you slip on snow, wet leaves, whatever and land on your butt.

Main Hunting Shoes are better, though as has been mentioned, they provide no ankle support so walk carefully in them.

I like the Wayne Carlton's CAT PAWS Super Sneakers. Very quiet.
