Dave, it always amazes me how much better wood grains look when the window is taken out on the right side (for a lefty)of the riser! Great looking bow.
18 months Cacciatore....say it ain't so! I just checked my old e-mails. I ordered my Snakebit in mid-May. I'm counting on the bow being finished sometime in July (or before?????).

Thanks guys for all the help those pictures on the rug are great.I was wondering if you saw this snag. My wood choices are the following cocobolo riser footed with myrtle and yew limb veneers. Is it true that myrtle is a native wood found only in the northwest ? I just hit my 13 &3/4 month mark on my wait. So what is a few more weeks. Keep up the therapy it helps. Hey steadman I may have to make a trip to spanish to show you in person.

Helo: I have been told that the Myrtle only grows in North America in the Northwest States but it also grows in the "Holy Land" which I take to mean Isrial or surronding natiions. Carritore: I know what you mean about slow, at 60 the hunting seasons get here way to quick. I have changed my mind twice already about the bow,
and I still have about 5 months to go. It will be here before you know it. R.W.

At least I have a couple of deliveries from other bowyers to tide me over -- Super Wildcat next month and Bear TD limbs in December -- both from Rose Oak. Then in April - I hope a couple weeks before turkey season opens -- a Schafer Silvertip.
Yep, time sure flies these days -- I can't believe only 4 more weeks of pre-gun season bowhunting remaining here. Just came in this morning -- didn't see any deer until walking out. Three does walked right by a nice cedar I've been eyeing for a couple years about 10 yards into a pasture from a very nice woodlot -- the stand goes up at lunchtime today!

That's right myrtlewood is native to Oregon. Norm lives on the coast here and is able to find some rare and beautiful stuff that others don't.
Yew grows here also. So Helo outside of the cocobola you've got a real Oregon bow being built by an Oregon bowyer! Cool.

Since we're sharing mine will be Cocobolo footed with Ebony on the riser w/Cocobolo and Wenge on the limbs. I've seen other pics online of this combination and I hope mine comes out half as nice!!!!
Tic, Tic, Tic....patience is a virtue (so I've been telling myself!)

Here's a little info. on Oregon myrtlewood for you Helo. Becoming more and more rare. It's such a slow grower that some of the trees are mighty old.

Very interesting link on the myrtle wood. This is why wood bows have such a attraction to those in trad they have history and lots of craftmanship built into them. As stated in the link I am sure mine will be passed down later in my life. Hey snag thanks for that link. Knowing that will add more history to my bow. One less week to go.
