This is not the deer I was after, but he was the second buck I was able to call in this past weekend.
Friday morning I rattled in a buck and managed to blow a 25 yard shot- just a smidge low. Saturday evening I heard deer in the corn and hit the grunt tube. This guy ran out of the corn to the edge of the woods. I gave another soft grunt and he charged right in. I had a steep angle and shot him high through one lung and down through the other and into the opposite shoulder.
With a high hit, the blood trail was sparse so I decided to back out and find him the next morning. When he charged in, I thought he was much bigger than he was. It was a great hunt and another wonderful traditional trophy.
My Lewis Hollow longbow did the trick once more!
