Thanks guys. Any deer killed with a trad bow is a trophy. I was just hoping to have a taxidermy bill this fall.
Friend- I am shooting the original prototype Lewis Hollow Archery 3 piece Longbow (Hope and Faith's oldest brother). Chris at LHA is a great friend and hunting buddy. I am lucky to call him a friend- I would be even if he didn't build such great bows. I believe that is the 7th deer I have killed with that bow.
The bow is 53@29 and I shoot 29" CE Heritage loaded with 100gr brass inserts and 125 gr Woodsman. I have had great success with this setup.
The area I was hunting was absolutely tore up with sign. There are rubs and scrapes everywhere. I have permission to hunt the very tip of a large wood plot that is surrounded by corn field. From the road, you wouldnt think much of the place, but it is a great spot.
I am really looking forward to filling some doe tags.
