Don't know about the sticks, but my ladder stands are 13 feet and that's plenty high for me.

I generally hunt from 18-22ft, but I'm very comfortable there.  Just make sure you have adequate cover and you should be fine.  Good luck to you.

I'm usually somewhere between 15-20 feet, depending on the tree and the surrounding terrain.

My lowest stand is 12 feet highest 16 maybe 17. Use cover to break up your pattern and you should be fine. I feel that being downwind is much more important than height. JMO

Use all 3 sections. It's easier to get onto the stand platform if you climb up past it and step even with the stand while your hands are still securely on the ladder stick. Better yet when your getting down in a low light situation. Only my opinion though.

I use the same set up, but I start off with 2 screw in steps, then use 3 LW climbing sticks. This gets me up around 22 feet.

Dont really think about height much.  I hunt where i can get the most cover.

12-25 feet

I also use the Lone Wolf climbing sticks. It depends on how much spacing you place between each section to get to your desired height. You might be able to get by with only two.

As far as the height of the stand goes, I like to hunt 18-20 feet up. As along as you have the right tree to break up your silhouette, you should be fine at 12 feet.

Good luck and good shooting!

About 12 feet. I try to sit in a pine, so cover isn't an issue. Any higher and I don't like the shot angle.

Mostly......18 to 20 feet.  Sometimes as low as 16', if all other factors work out.  Any lower than that and I'll just hunt off the ground.

12-15' is what I like. I just dont like the steep shot angles above that. I try to plan my stand location based on terrain, cover, dirrection of deer movement, prevailing wind direction and shooting lanes. My only concern with lower stand eights is when multiple deer come. You just cant keep track of where all of them are looking. I once had nine deer around my stand and nearly had an anxiety attack trying to keep track of all of their positions. Eventually I ended up missing a shot and a doe behind me blew the whistle.

It's been real low so far this yr. I only use climbers anymore and have been hunting right in the edge of locust tree saddle. It's hard to find a tree big enough to get in and most are full of thorns. Got only 6' up couple days ago and had a cow horn spike walk right under me.

I get up where I'm camouflaged and can get the most shots, but not over 18 to 20'.

About 16 for me.  I dont like being that high, I like alot of cover and try to get above the lowest limb on the tree.  Make sure you have some back cover or you will be a big black blob up there.

Any thing over 16 feet IMHO is too high, you start to get shooting angles that are unsatisfactory.

Cover is what matters, I hunt 3ft. stands and than as high as 30ft. depending on cover and terrain! Shawn
