I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Gene was loved and respected here and throughout the traditional archery family. He made us all richer and will be deeply missed.
Godspeed Gene, and prayers for your family.

I had the privilage to meet him a couple years ago at OJAM. A fine gentalman and a fellow with a kind heart.

His friends and family are in my thoughts.

One of the best from here in Missouri. He was one of the founders of United Bowhunters in Missouri. I didn't know him as long and as well as I would have liked but did get to share a hunt or two with him. A wonderful, fun loving happy guy. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear this.

I'm so sorry. The first year I ran the Comptons vendor tent, he showed up and helped arrange the tables. Very nice man.

I first met Gene when I played for the UBM Banquet some years ago. He told me that he wanted to get something for me. The next time I saw him was at Compton in Michigan. He presented me with a 20x stetson camo hat that he had custom made for be by one of his friends who owned a western shop. It is the official camocowboy hat. He even had that monogramed
into the band liner. I'll miss you my friend, but I will think about you every time I put on my hat.
